He lived there until an infamous conflict, later dubbed The Battle of Silvertear Skies, left his village in shambles and his family perished. He wandered into southern Eorzea where he eventually found the refugee camp of Little Ala Mhigo, housing others displaced from another Imperial conflict to the east. It was there that he was properly trained in combat, favoring the sword and shield. Some time after the fall of the artificial moon Dalamud and the ensuing 7th Umbral Calamity, Kino decided to travel into the Eorzean City-State of Ul’dah and take up work as a mercenary, helping the poor and downtrodden masses still suffering from the recent catastrophe. He currently lives in and runs his business, Chocobros Contracting, out of the estate of the Free Company to which he belongs, The Black Waltz, along with his business partners Cocolima Kokolima and J’ocasta Kayah.Unique Traits: He is the only Kino in the Kinoverse who appears to have some cognizance of the fact that he exists within a wider shared multiverse subject to outside observers, breaking the fourth wall to communicate with said outside observers via the 171st Street Games Twitch Channel. How he is perceptive to this isn't clear, though he suspects it’s a result of being exposed to the monumental abundance of Aether that bombarded his homeland during the Battle of Silvertear Skies, awakening this multiversal awareness, but he tends to keep it to himself since he figures nobody in his universe would believe him anyway.

Game: Animal Crossing: New Horizons (ACNH)

Location: Taterville, Taterville Island, Animal Crossing Universe
Alignment: Lawful Good
Affiliations: Paradise Planning (Vacation Home Realtor)
Allies: Jocasta, Jay, Nico, Haydin, Mattrim, Yurghey, Link, Britt, Harlie
Companions: Piper (Bird Villager), Pekoe (Cub Villager)Bio: Not much is known about Kino prior to his arrival on the island that would eventually be known as Taterville. One minute he’s presumably headed for an island getaway, the next minute he’s being asked to live on and maintain said island at the behest of a Racoon. But Kino took on the challenge. After inviting a few more Animal Villagers to live on his island with him, he created a residential district, a vegetable farm and fruit orchard, a botanical garden, an outdoor carnival, a beachside rec center complete with live music lounge and dance club, a beachside diner, an outdoor swap meet, and commissioned the construction of a general store, a clothing store, and a museum complete with an outdoor art exhibit and gift shop.Taking his creativity one step farther, he accepted a job at Paradise Planning in the nearby Wildberry Archipelago, where he makes commission pitching, selling, designing, and furnishing vacation homes for Villagers from Taterville Island and abroad. He is also known to invite friends to his island to play hide and seek, tag (with nets and axes), and celebrate various holidays, especially the annual countdown to the New Year.Unique Traits: He is the only Kino in the Kinoverse who has never killed any creature larger than a cockroach. He is also the only Kino in the Kinoverse who does not own any item whose primary use is as a weapon (his slingshot is used exclusively to pop balloons). He is also, weirdly enough, the only Kino who has steady employment at a normal mundane job where he collects a paycheck from an employer.

Seven years later, Kino boarded the Pioneer II to join the established colony. However, an explosion and loss of communication halted planetfall and kept Pioneer II in orbit over Ragol to investigate.Kino, versed in the use of Photon Rifles, joined the Pioneer II’s Hunter’s Guild as a Ranger and took on the task of making trips to Ragol’s surface to investigate the local wildlife, search for possible Pioneer I survivors, and make sense of this planet.Along with his Guild Team, the Tater Tots, Kino makes frequent exploratory trips planetside and that’s how he spends his days.Unique Traits: He is the only Kino in the Kinoverse who does not have an established personal dwelling. It is assumed he just lives in the Hunters Guild barracks aboard Pioneer 2. He is also the only Kino to have existed in some form in two distinct time periods within his own reality.

He was provided with land to build himself a homestead, and did odd jobs for the townsfolk who repaid him with the means to sustain himself on that homestead. While he enjoys activities like fishing and bug catching recreationally, Kino makes the bulk of his living selling crops from his farm, along with preserves, pickles, and meals he is able to create from said crops and game that he hunts out in the wild.He also enjoys spending time with his other human friends, and is regularly tending to the “outdoor party area” on his property for the purpose of social gatherings.Unique Traits: He is the only Kino in the Kinoverse who currently has an established romantic partner, as he is currently courting Kenyatta, the City Hall Clerk of Kilima Village. He is also the only Kino in the Kinoverse who owns a bow that he only uses to hunt food, not for combat.

Alignment: True Neutral
Affiliations: Bear Arms, LLC (Security Firm), The Grizzly Gunners (Motorcycle Club & Street Crew)

Companions: Mechanic (Personal Auto Mechanic), Marcus (Nightclub Bouncer)Bio: Kino was born and raised in Blaine County, San Andreas. His family was on the low end of the working class, and always had to struggle to make ends meet. Kino was often the subject of bullying and abuse throughout school for being “the poor kid.”Not long after Kino graduated High School, a gang-related drive-by shooting in his neighborhood left his parents murdered by stray shots. Kino was left with a small house he couldn’t afford without taking work running drugs and other illicit goods. However, after a while, Kino got so good at his unlawful work over a few years that he stuck enough money away to start up his own illicit goods manufacturing operations. Eventually he made enough money to open a nightclub and an arcade in Los Santos, both of which are fronts for expanding his illicit businesses.Currently, Kino spends his time running his illegal businesses, customizing motorcycles at his bike shop, partying in his nightclub, or relaxing at one of his many properties (including his personal yacht) across Los Santos and Blaine County.Unique Traits: He is the only Kino in the Kinoverse who lives on a version of Earth. To show his gratitude for the small village taking care of him until he awoke, Kino did some small jobs for the locals, even going so far as to help them escape an attack from the Daggerfall Covenant. The escape led Kino to Morrowind, where he decided that he seems to have a knack for Mercenary work, and decided to take that up while he travels the lands of Tamriel trying to slowly restore his lost soul.Unique Traits: He is the only Kino in the Kinoverse without blue hair, as this isn't a thing in his universe. He is also the only Kino confirmed to be ambidextrous, preferring his right hand for primary melee and long bow use, but perfectly capable of using his left hand to wield a secondary melee weapon as well as using it to fire a one-handed mini-crossbow. He is also the only Kino known to use a whip and a crossbow.

While the middle and upper classes lived peaceful lives on the Upper Levels, Kino and his mother lived in the Lower Levels, home to more dangerous criminal elements.Kino’s mother provided for them via her job at The Works, the industrial district that manufactured parts for spacecraft, speeders, droids, etc. Once Kino entered his teens, he found work with a rugged starship captain shipping goods from Coruscant to neighboring planets, a position he kept well into adulthood. What Kino learned, though, was that the goods were being illegally smuggled. However, having grown up around Coruscant’s criminal element, this didn’t faze him, as he enjoyed the thrilling adventures he and his Captain would embark upon. Until, unfortunately, his Captain was killed in a deal gone bad. Kino was able to escape on their ship, assuming the role of Captain for himself.Kino continued moving goods until a job on Ord Mantell that saw his ship hijacked for a time. After tracking his ship back to Coruscant, he was able to recover it, along with the small crew that the thief had added to it. Now, Kino and his companions travel the galaxy continuing his smuggling ventures, living aboard the ship for the most part, although Kino does have a barebones apartment on Coruscant as well.Unique Traits: He is the only Kino in the Kinoverse who owns a personal spacecraft and can freely travel between different planets at his liesure.

Game: Elite Dangerous (ED)
Race: Human
Occupation: Freelancer
Location: Shinrarta Delta System, Milky Way Galaxy, Elite Universe
Alignment: Neutral Good
Affiliations:
Allies: Cmdr Mattrim Brown, Cmdr Jayce Youlden
Companions: NoneBio: Formerly of the [REDACTED] Mercenary Organization, Kino decided to retire from organized mercenary work and set out on his own as a Freelancer across the Milky Way Galaxy.Kino started small with a one-man fighter ship, doing odd jobs like tracking lost beacons in space and light bounty hunting work. Eventually he teamed up with a fellow Freelancer named Joe for some asteroid mining jobs that began building up his finances. After purchasing a decent-sized cargo ship, Kino began doing earnest work as a courier between different plants and systems of the Milky Way, his jobs sending him from the bustling systems on the inner rim of the cluster clear to remote systems approaching dark space, and all points in between.Kino still continues his courier work, recently also acquiring a passenger ship to do commercial galactic tours. While it's been some time since he's done any dirty work in the way of bounty hunting and the like, he's still not opposed if a good opportunity comes his way.Unique Traits: He is the only Kino in the Kinoverse who is both space-faring and freely traverses his universe’s variant of the Milky Way Galaxy; unlike SWTOR Kino who is space-faring but unaware of his universe’s Milky Way Galaxy, unlike PSO Kino and PSO2 Kino who are space-faring and each aware of his universe’s Milky Way Galaxy but cannot freely explore it, and unlike GTA Kino who lives in his universe’s Milky Way Galaxy but is confined to his own singular planet. He is also the only Kino who has no established or implied living space outside of his own personal vehicle.

Game: Fall Guys (FG)
Race: Bean
Occupation: Battle Royal Competitor
Location: The Blunderdome, Fall Guys Universe
Alignment: True Neutral
Affiliations: The Blunderdome
Allies: Phoenix, Ariel, Pants, Cerasus
Companions: NoneBio: Kino is one of a multitude of Beans that exist in The Blunderdome to compete in the Battle Royale. Kino’s entire life is spent running the courses and trying to earn a 1st Place Victory. He earns special coins and tokens that allow him to purchase apparel and accessories to wear as he competes. He is non-combative, technically, in that he doesn't engage in any martial combat whatsoever. Any physicality he engages in is purely incidental of the running of obstacle courses, as Beans are often funneled into narrow tracks or otherwised tightly-grouped in a way where pushing and shoving to advance is unavoidable.Unique Traits: He is the only Kino in the Kinoverse who is implicitly not human, although some popular fan speculation and theories about the Beans argues otherwise. He is the only Kino without any hair whatsoever. He’s the only Kino to possess no tools or weapons. He’s the only Kino who is technically a professional athlete. And he’s the only Kino who has never killed another living thing, be it in combat, hunting, or pest control.
Physical Appearance: All Kinos in the Kinoverse have brown eyes and blue hair (except ESO Kino), a light almost-pale complexion, and a lean and toned build (except ACNH Kino). Despite most of them living in worlds populated by beastmen, elves, androids, and/or anthropomorphic animals, the one consistent throughline among all Kinos is that they can be accurately described as “just a guy.”Ethics: All Kinos (with the surprising inclusion of GTA Kino) have a sense of justice. This is obviously influenced by the context of the worlds each of them live in. For example, FFXIV Kino is willing to work outside official Eorzean Alliance avenues to confront bounties that are a clear and present danger to society, while Palia Kino is willing to help the merchant Zeki keep his illicit business under the radar from bureaucratic overreach, and GTA Kino brings swift retribution to snitches who work with corrupt authorities to disrupt his non-violent business practices.Fashion: All Kinos in the Kinoverse prefer purple armors and clothing. With the exceptions of PSOBB Kino and Palia Kino, Kinos are known to have an extensive wardrobe of outfits suited to different climates, tasks, or activities (examples including various Kinos having casual wear, formal wear, and club wear, along with cold-weather and warm-weather outfits and combat gear).Recreation: All Kinos enjoy music and dancing. Some more enthusiastically and elaborately than others, but every Kino in the Kinoverse is always compelled to dance whenever music is playing, and sometimes even when the music is just in their own head, especially FFXIV Kino and PSO2 Kino.Food: All Kinos enjoy potato-based food dishes, some even going as far as naming properties, teams, and alliances after them, most-often Tater Tots specifically.
FFXIV Kino and GTA Kino are both known to frequent bars and nightclubs and recreationally consume moderate to large quantities of alcoholic beverages.FFXIV Kino and ESO Kino are the only two Kinos who prefer melee fighting, specifically with a sword and shield combo.FFXIV Kino and ESO Kino are the only two Kinos whose racial identifier is not simply “Human,” as the former’s universe has a completely separate word for humans, while the latter’s universe separates humans into separate sub-races.PSO2 Kino and ESO Kino both suffered circumstances that caused them to lose memories of their past.GTA Kino and PSO2 Kino (at least his historical counterpart) have/had access to and occasionally frequent(ed) a local casino to do some light gambling, both preferring low-stakes slot machines.PSO Kino and PSO2 Kino (at least his historical counterpart), are aware of the existence of Earth. However, in the former’s reality Earth was destroyed by its own human inhabitants, and in the latter’s reality Earth is the source of cross-dimensional avatars that virtually assisted Oracle Colony’s ARKS.FFXIV Kino, GTA Kino, and SWTOR Kino own personal modes of conveyance that can fly.ACNH Kino and Palia Kino are both adept at growing their own produce and making meals out of it, being the only two Kinos each with an entire farm and kitchen at his disposal.FFXIV Kino and PSO2 Kino are both capable of utilizing an almost endless cache of weaponry in combat, able to switch between close-range, long-range, and magic/technique-based fighting styles, though they each have a specific weapon and combat style that they greatly prefer above all others.FFXIV Kino and PSO2 Kino regularly frequent live music venues.PSO Kino and PSO2 Kino are the only two Kinos who exist within the same shared Multiverse.GTA Kino and SWTOR Kino are the only two Kinos who are, for all intents and purposes, career criminals, although the former has committed exponentially more plentiful and vastly more serious crimes, while the latter is just a cargo smuggler.Neither Palia Kino, GTA Kino, nor SWTOR Kino owns a sword.Neither ACNH Kino, Palia Kino, nor ESO Kino owns a gun.
Several Kinos in the Kinoverse have a companion named Jocasta Kayah. Jocasta is typically a dark-skinned, petite woman, most often of a humanoid feline race (with a few exceptions), with green eyes and black hair that sometimes has different-colored highlights or streaks. In the same way Kino prefers to wear purple armor and outfits, Jocasta's preferred fashion coloration is red and black. Unlike a Kino’s typical “stand ground” approach to battle as an immovable armored defender or a well-placed ranged fighter, a Jocasta will typically contrast this by being a quick and nimble melee fighter, light on her feet and constantly moving, oftentimes fighting with a katana or dual-wielded daggers or short swords, although she is not opposed to using a bow and arrow when needs must.
